First Blog

During my Senior Experience trip to Senegal, I plan on doing a lot of work to help benefit the students at a high school called Adja Penda Ba. One of our main goals, is to help the students to learn basic computer literacy using the XO laptops. The School was built by my mom's non profit organization, Open International, in the small rural town of Nioro, Senegal. Many of the students there have never used a computer before and are very impoverished. That's why we want to be able to have this opportunity to help them technologically due to the fact that our world is become more and more digital every day. Today is our first day working as a group with the XO laptops and hopefully as time goes by we will be able to learn a lot more about them and be successful in relaying our knowledge of the computers to the students at Adja Penda Ba.

  1. Nice blog post. I'd like to share a suggestion and then give you your next assignment. Hypertext is a truly wonderful thing, and it is easily supported in a blog. When you mention, "Adja Penda Ba" or "Open International", for example, make that text into a link to more information about them. I can show you how to do this next week, but you can probably figure it out on your own.

Now for your assignment: visit the sugarlabs.org website, and click on the "teachers" link:

Follow this tutorial, making notes (right here in this blog) about what you learn.
